The Second Global Think Tank Summit held in Beijing
From June 25 to June 26, 2011, the "Second Global Think Tank Summit" organized by the China Center for International Economic Exchanges was successfully held in Beijing.
At this conference, the theme centered on "global economic governance: common responsibility". The issues that were focused on were global economic governance, world economic situation and inflation, and reform of the international monetary system.
Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice-Premier of the State Council, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony. He pointed out that as the largest developing country in the world, China is willing to cope with the global challenges and share developmental opportunities with the international community.
Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, presided over the opening ceremony of the summit. He noted that currently we should follow the idea of "sharing human wisdom and seeking global development", unite global wisdom, and explore world economic development situation and strategy for improving global economic governance, in an attempt to contribute to the stable and healthy development of world economy.
At the main forum of the summit, former Secretary of State of the United States Henry Kissinger, former British Deputy Prime Minister Prescott, former Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Kolodko, Former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Nikai Toshihiro, Former Minister in the Presidency of the Republic of South Africa Pahad and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Sha Zukang and others delivered keynote speeches.
Relevant members of the Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation were invited to attend this summit.
