The Rockefeller family delegation visits Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management

On March 14, 2011, a delegation from the Rockefeller family led by Mr. Steven Rockefeller Jr, Chairman of Rose Rock Partners LLC, visited the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management. Mr. Rockefeller Jr. made a speech titled “Realize the Dream一 Family History and Poverty Elimination" in the lecture hall of Tsinghua University School of Economy and Management.

During the speech, Mr. Rockefeller vividly talked about his family history, his family’s business investment philosophies and great achievements, as well as significant contributions made by his family to charity and public services. The Rockefeller family has provided financial services to many undeveloped countries and regions, and was awarded the Fulbright Prize by the United Nation (UN).

Before the speech Professor Qian Yingyi, the Dean of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, held a meeting with Rockefeller family delegation. Mr. Cao Wenlian, Director of International Cooperation Center, National Development and Reform Commission, welcomed the delegation's visit to China and introduced briefly to the audience the history of Rockefeller family.

After the speech, the students asked many questions and were actively engaged in an in-depth discussion with Mr. Rockefeller.

When referring to modern American history, it is hard to avoid the name Rockefeller. In the business world, the wealth and fame of Rockefeller family is known to all. This “Global Wealth Monument”, which has been prosperous for six generations, is still associated with the U.S.A, international politics, and economics.

Since 1987, Mr. Steven Rockefeller Jr. has been a member of the Board in the world renowned Rockefeller University. Prior to his current role in private equity funds and investment banking, he served as Managing Director in Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management U.S.A. In addition, Mr. Rockefeller has cooperated with many international and American organizations to provide financial services to undeveloped countries and regions. Because of his long-term efforts in this area, Mr. Rockefeller was awarded the Fulbright Prize by the UN to recognize his contributions in poverty elimination. Mr. Rockefeller graduated from Yale University with a Masters degree.
