Colin Heseltine was the former Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat, Singapore, 2007; He served in Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade from 1969 to 2008, as the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, 2001-2005; head of the Australian Commerce and Industry Office, 1992-1997; deputy head of the mission at the Australian Embassy in Beijing, 1982-1985 and 1988-1992 as well as diplomatic appointments in Chile and Spain.

Having worked with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for almost 40 years, Colin Heseltine brings a clear understanding of Australian diplomatic, economic and trade policy along with rich experience in foreign affairs throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Based in Canberra, he has high level relationships with the Australian government, as well as extensive ties with other government and business entities in Asia. He frequently helps many private and public organizations involved in many industries, including trade, economy, education, and tourism.

As a result of working in China for many years, Colin Heseltine has made a great contribution to Sino-Australian friendship with his knowledge about the situation of Chinese society.
