“Asia-Pacific International Education & Research Center
of Lumbini Buddhist University” established in Hong Kong
(From chinareport.com, Correspondent Geng Ling) On June 27th, the signing ceremony for the joint establishment of the "Asia-Pacific International Education & Research Center of Lumbini Buddhist University" by the World Buddhism and Peace Federation (Hong Kong), the World Buddhist Peace Council (Korea) and Lumbini Buddhist University of Nepal was held in Guangzhou.

Co-Chairman Xiao Wunan and Vice-Chairman Lin Yongzhong of the World Buddhism and Peace Federation and the World Buddhist Peace Council, Professor Subarna Lal Bajracharya, Vice-Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University in Nepal, and Li Jingqiu, Deputy Director of the Classic Culture Communication Fund of the Beijing GaoZhanxiang Culture and Arts Foundation, attended the signing ceremony.
According to the consensus reached by all parties, they will jointly participate in the construction and operation of the Hong Kong International Buddhism & Research Center. This center was jointly initiated and established by several internationally renowned institutions, major global Buddhist organizations, and notable individuals. It aims to leverage Hong Kong's many advantages in global cultural communication, spread and promote the peaceful concepts and thoughts of Buddhism, and jointly make lasting contributions to world peace and human prosperity. This center consists of the World Meditation Center, the International Buddhist Education & Research Center, the World Religion Museum, and the World Buddhist Peace Pagoda.
This agreement also specifically mentions: joining hands and gathering the strength of the international community to jointly promote the research, editing, and publication of the multi-language "New Edition of the Tripitaka", making practical efforts for the sinicization of Buddhism and the "going global" of Chinese culture.

Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) is a public university directly under the Ministry of Education of Nepal, located in Lumbini, the Buddhist holy land. The World Buddhism and Peace Federation, the World Buddhist Peace Council, in collaboration with organizations such as the Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation, have long been involved in the "Lumbini Recovery Plan". After ten years of effort, with the joint support of the United Nations and many peace-loving forces around the world, Lumbini has been transformed from an unknown place to a world-renowned Buddhist holy land and spiritual home, playing a positive role in the prosperity and stability of the South Asian region.
It is believed that through the cooperation of international organizations and the extensive participation of peace-loving people, outstanding achievements will be made in building Hong Kong into a world-class cultural communication and exchange base, and it will also bring constructive effects to the peace and development of the Asia-Pacific region.
