“Treasures Exhibition in Memory of Premier Zhou Enlai” held in Chongqing

 

(From chinareport.com, correspondent Li Chuanjun) On March 1st, 2021, The large exhibition of “He has attracted the attention of the world - Treasures exhibition in memory of Premier Zhou Enlai” began to be displayed at the Hongyan Revolution Memorial Hall, Chongqing. This exhibition was jointly organized by China International Culture Exchange Centre, Shanghai International Culture Association, Chongqing Hongyan Revolutionary History Museum and other institutions.


“Treasures Exhibition in Memory of Premier Zhou Enlai”

This exhibition focuses on the exhibits such as inscriptions, calligraphy, paintings and photographic treasures collected for many years in the production of the TV documentary “Enlai’s Centenary” to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Zhou Enlai’s birth. These include the handwritten inscriptions of Wan Li, Song Renqiong, Xiao Ke, Zhang Zhen, Zhang Aiping, Gu Mu, and other revolutionaries of the older generation, Ba Jin, Cao Yu, Zang Kejia, Zhou Weizhi, Wu Zuguang and other literary and artistic masters, Sihanouk, Kissinger, Daisaku Ikeda, Han Suyin and other international celebrities; Calligraphy and painting works specially inscribed by Zhao Puchu, Guan Shanyue, Shen Peng, Li Duo, Han Meilin and other calligraphers and painters for the TV documentary “Enlai’s Centenary” and this exhibition; the original photos of “Zhou Enlai in Meditation”, which was presented to Zhou Enlai’s relatives and inscribed by Giorgio Lotti, a famous Italian photographer. At the same time, Zhou Enlai’s important historical archives collected in the Russian State Archive and precious historical materials provided by Zhou Enlai’s relatives and nearby staff were displayed for the first time.


The exhibition is divided into four parts: “Brightness”, “Uprightness”, “Cleanness”, “Love”, which has high historical and artistic value and vividly shows Zhou Enlai’s outstanding merit, noble spirit and great personality. It is the precious spiritual wealth of our party and also expresses a deep sense of nostalgia of people from all walks of life at home and abroad for Zhou Enlai.


Since 1939, the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee led by Zhou Enlai had carried out eight years of work in Hongyan village, Chongqing. It had made remarkable contributions to maintaining the overall situation of Kuomintang-Communist cooperation in the war of resistance against Japan, consolidating and developing the Counter-Japanese National United Front, promoting democracy and striving for the victory of the war of resistance against Japan. This exhibition has special and far-reaching significance for inheriting and carry forward the Hongyan spirit.


On the opening day of exhibition, Premier Zhou Enlai’s relatives: General Zhou Erjun, former Director of the Political Department of the China People's Liberation Army National Defence University, Deng Zaijun, wife of Premier Zhou Enlai’s nephew and former Senior Editor and Director of CCTV; Staff around Premier Zhou Enlai: General Gao Zhenpu, former Deputy Director of the Central Guard Bureau, Li Zhongjie, former Deputy Director of the Party History Research Center of the CPC Central Committee and Consultant of China International Culture Exchange Centre, Xu Honghai, Secretary General of China International Culture Exchange Centre, and dozens of other guests attended the opening ceremony. Xiao Wunan, Vice President of the China Association of Social Economic & Cultural Exchange and Executive Vice Chairman of the Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation, and Ge Fen, Executive Director of SiHui Tech (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., were invited to attend the above activities as special guests.


The next stop of the “Treasures Exhibition in Memory of Premier Zhou Enlai” is planned to be held in Shenzhen. With the opportunity of “the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China”, we will give full play to the advantages of Shenzhen’s reform and opening up, and we believe that the activity will produce better results. At the same time, the exhibition will be based on providing national condition education services for Hong Kong youth and cultivating Hong Kong youth’s feelings of loving the CPC, China and Hong Kong, which has more special significance.
