4th Global Diplomats' Chinese Cultural Night held in Beijing


(From chinareports.org.cn, Correspondent: Geng Ling) On December 8, 2018, co-hosted by the Beijing Diplomats International Organization and the Beijing Military Attache Corps in China and co-organized by the Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation, the 4th Global Diplomats' Chinese Cultural Night was held at the banquet hall of the China World Hotel in Beijing. More than 500 diplomatic envoys from more than 100 countries participated in the event. Former Vice Foreign Minister Ji Peiding, APECF Executive Vice Chairman Xiao Wunan and Mr. Chen Jun, Executive Vice President of the China-Asia Economic Development Association, attended the event as distinguished guests.

At the beginning of the event, Mr. Bayney Karran, Guyana's Ambassador to China and the 2018 rotating chairman, delivered the opening speech. Mr. Selim Belortaja, Albania's Ambassador to China and rotating chairman for the 2019 event, took over the flag and delivered speeches. Some Chinese artists, especially inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, performed performances, passing on and sharing Chinese intangible cultural heritage symbols, winning applause. The dinner also attracted the performances of diplomats from all countries. Cuban salsa, Samoan traditional dance, Ukraine, Trinidad and Tobago dance and traditional costume shows were performed. The Ambassador of Samoa personally performed the passionate music of Pacific island countries, blending Chinese and foreign cultures to learn from each other. In the evening, they held an unveiling ceremony of the establishment of the Sino-US Friendship Center by the Iowa State government Beijing, which provided a new platform for promoting Sino-US friendly contacts among the two countries’ peoples. The first "I am the Inheritor of Chinese Characters" contest, which was jointly participated by all parties, was launched witnessed by diplomats from around the world.


The “Global Diplomats' Chinese Cultural Night” has been successfully held three times. As the executing party of the event, LOOKWE and Ms. Wang Yan have established strategic partnership with more than 160 embassies and international organizations in China for more than 10 years and has made outstanding achievements in promoting non-governmental diplomacy.
