(From chinareports.org.cn, Correspondent: Li Chuanjun) On November 6, at the invitation of several universities in Henan province, Mr. Xiao Wunan, President of the China Cultural Center (USA), Mr. Li Ji, President of Hantian TV, Mr. Bill Smith, President of Columbia College Hollywood, and his delegation visited many universities in Zhengzhou. They reached a consensus on how to enhance exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and American universities and achieved fruitful results.

The delegation first visited Henan University of Chinese Medicine. President Xu Erping and other leaders of the university warmly received the delegation from the United States and accompanied them throughout their visit to the campus, facilities and the museum of traditional Chinese medicine, showing the historical origin and development of traditional Chinese medicine. Later, Mr. Xiao Wunan, President Xu and heads of university departments reached a broad consensus on the establishment of a joint technology research and development center between Henan University of Chinese Medicine and Stanford University. The next day, the delegation also visited Zhengzhou University and listened to an introduction of future development prospects, advantages and characteristics of TCM. The Columbia College Hollywood and Zhengzhou University also signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a film and television branch. Mr. Liu Jiongtian, Vice Chairman of Henan provincial People’s Political Consultative Conference, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the President of Zhengzhou University, and other school presidents participated.

As a major member of the delegation, Mr. Tang Guoqiang, a well-known movie actor and social activist in the United States, put forward many valuable opinions regarding exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States in the field of education, especially in the field of art education, which attracted great attention from local governments and educational institutions.

The Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation has been committed to educational exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States for a long time and has made remarkable achievements. It has established many cooperation with Stanford University, California State University, University of California Riverside, Academy of Art University, Baylor University and New York University. It is believed that this visit will open up a new prospect for promoting inter-school cooperation between China and the United States.
