Dialogue among civilizations continues
(From chinareports.org.cn, Correspondent: Li Chuanjun) On the afternoon of January 29, Mr. Xiao Wunan, President of China Culture Center (USA), and his delegation held a working meeting with Mr. Sri Sri, a world-renowned Indian envoy of peace and culture.The two sides had constructive discussions on how to use Oriental wisdom, especially the art of Zen, to solve current world crises and reached a high degree of consensus. At the same time, the two sides also proposed to hold a "Sino-Indian Cultural Forum" in Bangalore, Mr. Sri Sri's hometown in India, at an appropriate time this year, complementing activities of "Promote World Peace through Dialogue among Civilizations". They agreed that through the exchange of civilizations between the two ancient countries, they should shoulder the responsibility and play an active role in sustaining prosperity of mankind.

As a well-known international activist, Mr. Sri Sri has long been committed to world peace and enjoyed wide influence. His art of life has benefited hundreds of millions of people all over the world. His concept of peace has successfully helped Colombia end war and move towards peace. He has been highly praised and respected no matter in the United States, by other international organizations and governments of many countries. Mr. Sri Sri has a friendly relationship with the Chinese people. He has repeatedly expressed his willingness to promote mutual understanding and communication between China and India so as to continue thousands of years of friendly exchanges between the two nations.

Mr. Xiao has long promoted mutual recognition of cultures in different regions and nationalities, and has achieved fruitful results, which has been recognized and praised worldwide. In 2015, he led a number of institutions to launch the event of “Promote World Peace through Dialogue among Civilizations”. Hundreds of dignitaries, business leaders and celebrities from all walks of life from the international community, including the Secretary-General of the United Nations and presidents of many countries, participated in these events, which were designated an important agenda of the “Post 2015 Development Agenda” by the UN General Assembly in September, 2015. One important content of these events is to promote dialogue among religious and cultural elites of different countries and nationalities so as to fundamentally end the worldwide crisis caused by the clash of civilizations. The meeting between Mr. Sri Sri and Mr. Xiao Wunan in Hong Kong meant the official opening of “Promote World Peace through Dialogue among Civilizations” in 2018.
