APECF holds "Symposium on outlook of Qianhai
Special Zone" in New York
【Overseas Chinese Daily, New York, November 12, 2013】To introduce the Qianhai Special Zone of Shenzhen to the international community, the Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation (APECF), the Qianhai Management Authority and the International Council for Caring Communities (ICCC) held the "Symposium on the outlook of the Qianhai Special Zone of Shenzhen" at the U.N. Delegation Dining Room on November 12, 2013. More than 100 people attended the symposium, including Mr. Jack Rosen, co-Chairman of APECF, Mr. Zhang Bei, director of the Qianhai Management Authority, Ms. Dianne Davis, Founding President of ICCC, U.N. representatives and dignitaries from the financial and property sectors in New York.
Mr. Rosen gave a speech in which he spoke highly of China's economic environment and planned economic and financial reforms. Mr. Zhang provided a thorough introduction of the development blueprint of Qianhai's financial center and how it will adapt to institutional reform. He said Qianhai Zone's future strategy will be based on global perspective, implementation of China's national strategy, construction of an open platform with enterprises and markets playing the leading role , continued promotion of innovation, and achieving first class quality.
Mr. Zhang met several executives of top financial institutions in New York and invited them to invest in Qianhai. In addition, he will visit Chicago to discuss cooperation regarding futures market and learn the operational experience of Toronto's social security fund. Ms. Davis, Mr. Xiao Wunan, Executive Vice Chairman of the Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation, and Mr. Zhao Linghuan, President of Capital, also addressed the symposium and expressed their support and confidence for Qianhai's development.
