Since China's return to the United Nations, it has played a positive role in many aspects, such as maintaining world peace and promoting global economic and social development. With the increasingly closer cooperation between the United Nations and China, China will play an even more important role in the future of the United Nations and will unceasingly promote global development.

At the launching ceremony, UN USG Mr. Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal spoke highly of China’s significant role and outstanding contributions in UN affairs. He warmly congratulated the success of the opening ceremony of the film festival and said he expects further cooperation between the United Nations and China. Also he expressed sincere thanks to the organizers of the film event.

Since China’s return to United Nations, it has played an active role in many areas, as a result, China won universal praise from the international community. In the past 40 years, UN TV Service has recorded in the form of TV and films all the important events China has participated in and accumulated plenty of materials. Unfortunately, these precious films have never been shown publicly in China and other places in the world.

After the opening ceremony, teachers and students from Renmin University also exchanged views on the films with Mr. Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal and Mr. Chaim Litewski at Rulun Lecture Hall.
