The APECF delegation visits Australia and Papua New Guinea upon invitation

Led by Sir Tan Sri Tiong Hiew King, the Chairman of Rimbunan Hijau Group of Malaysia and the Co-Chairman of the Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation, the Foundation’s Executive Vice Chairman Xiao Wunan and Vice Secretary-General Zhou Guohua visited Australia and Papua New Guinea upon invitation from December 14 to December 18.

 

 In Sydney, the delegation had extensive discussions with Bob Hawke, former Prime Minister of Australia, Maurice Newman, President of Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and renowned people from the industrial, business and legal communities in Australia, and achieved constructive results.

 

During the visit in Papua and New Guinea, the delegation led by Sir Tiong Hiew King visited several impoverished but vigorous islands in the nearby area, gave positive recommendation on how to eradicate poverty, improve education and ameliorate health care, and decided to settle the problems. Local residents extended warm welcome and reception to the delegation.
