Bridging Cultures with Intangible Cultural Heritage:
Forging a New Era of China-Africa-Europe Economic and Trade Cooperation


(From www.hqxwtoutiao.com) On the afternoon of October 30, 2025, an event hosted by the Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation (APECF) and organized by Beijing Longxiaofei Cultural Art Co., Ltd. was held in Hall 61, Qunxian Hall on the 6th floor of China World Hotel in Beijing.

The event gathered foreign diplomats in China, enterprise leaders, industry experts and scholars. Attendees included Xiao Wunan, Executive Vice Chairman of the APECF, Special Advisor to the China Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Enterprises Association, and Chairman of the Diplomat Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Ceremony Organizing Committee; Long Xiaofei, Chief Executive Officer of the Diplomat ICH Ceremony Organizing Committee; Wei Jianguo, former Vice Minister of Commerce and member of the Senior Expert Advisory Committee of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges; Helen Mahama, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in China; Dakopou Branch, Administrative and Financial Counsellor of the Embassy of the Central African Republic in China; Borjan Zafirovski, Political Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in China; Kate, First Secretary and Deputy Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia in China; and Sunaxin, President of Hong Kong Gaokasi Group (Greater China) and Standing Vice President of the Hong Kong Nepal Chamber of Commerce.

Xiao Wunan, Executive Vice Chairman of the APECF and Chairman of the Diplomat ICH Ceremony Organizing Committee, delivered the opening address first. Wei Jianguo, former Vice Minister of Commerce and member of the Senior Expert Advisory Committee of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, delivered an important speech titled “Taking Intangible Cultural Heritage as a Bridge: Writing a New Chapter in China-Africa-Europe Business Cooperation”. From a national strategic perspective, he interpreted the close ties of tripartite cooperation, laying a high-standard, forward-looking development tone for the event that resonated with the entire audience.


Highlight Session: Dual Momentum from Project Presentations and Platform Launch


During the "China-Africa-Europe Cooperation Promotion Session", Helen Mahama, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in China, Administrative and Dakopou Branch, Financial Counsellor of the Embassy of the Central African Republic in China, and Borjan Zafirovski, Political Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in China delivered speeches in sequence. Combining their countries' ICH resources, they elaborated on key investment projects and cultural tourism development opportunities. The precise delivery of information sparked strong interest among attending enterprise representatives.


Launch Ceremony Marks a New Journey: Under the spotlight of all attendees, seven guests including Xiao Wunan, Long Xiaofei, Helen Mahama, Dakopou Branch, Borjan Zafirovski, Kate, First Secretary and Deputy Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia in China, and Sunaxin, President of Greater China at Hong Kong Gaucas Group, jointly cut the ribbon, officially launching the "China-Africa-Europe Intangible Cultural Heritage Business Cooperation" platform. At the ceremony, appointment decisions were also announced: Sunaxin was appointed Vice Chairman of the Diplomat ICH Ceremony Organizing Committee, while Helen Mahama and Dakopou Branch were appointed Honorary Vice Chairmen.


Successful Conclusion: Sustained Exchanges to Draw a Win-Win Blueprint


Participants unanimously stated that the event not only built a high-level international exchange and cooperation platform, but also transformed the cultural value of intangible cultural heritage into driving force for economic cooperation through the combination of "strategic guidance and pragmatic presentations". In the future, the three parties will take this event as a starting point to achieve connectivity in broader fields and deeper levels, and jointly write a new chapter of mutually beneficial business cooperation among China, Africa and Europe.
